We first met Maxine & Adam early in 2015 when they had just booked their wedding ceremony and reception at the lovely country venue, The Longhouse in Bruton, Somerset. Having shot weddings there before and worked with the owner Matt, we knew it was a lovely and unique location for photographs, nestled in a valley overlooking the river Brue – not only that but we knew it would be a relaxed fun place for their day.

At our first meeting Maxine and Adam mentioned that they had met at Disney World in Orlando and their wedding was going to be Disney themed. We’ve been capturing weddings for 12 years together now so we have seen a lot of different styles over the years, but this was a first, and we were excited by their personal and novel theme!

Maxine and Adam also made so many of the details of their wedding themselves; from all the flowers, to the buttonholes, the table arrangements, the favours, the table plan, the decorations for the reception, the bunting, and the photo booth……Adam also made their beautiful cake. He wasn’t having a wedding band, so Maxine made him a badge, which she then carefully pinned to his suit lapel during the wedding ceremony, unable to keep a straight face!

One of the most moving parts of the day for me was the speeches, when Adam sang “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, with the words rewritten by Adam just for Maxine – so wonderful and so emotional; he must have had all the ladies in the room in tears as well as a few of the boys!
