We first saw this fantastic oak tree at our client’s home back in 2013, when we spent a day capturing Ian and Gill with their two grown-up children, Kirsty and Rob. I loved its big size and precence;  Gill told me that as children, Kirsty and Rob had spent hours playing in and around the tree. So last year when turned up one summers evening to do a horse shoot with Kirsty and her new steed Escobar, it seemed fitting to use the tree as backdrop for part of the shoot. At the end of the evening, just as the sun was disappearing, we illuminated the trunk with one of our lights,  then Kirsty and Escobar with a second light and – hey presto – this was the result! I love the ambience of the beautiful sky behind the tree with its big dramatic branches, with Kirsty and horse in the space underneath it.

Its always great seeing the images we create  turned into all kinds of “art”  – this one has become a beautiful personalised greetings card for the family, a lovely momentum of the shoot.
