Desmond the owl – that was a first for us! Yes I am talking about a wedding, and the owl didn’t do the ceremony (or fly the rings in)……he just came along to socialise for a bit (and have canapes, some fizz…..) !

We met Faye and Ash at the wedding fayre at the Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury where they were planning their autumn wedding. We had a chat and loved the sound of their day – simple & rustic with some great sparkle, and a big finale of fireworks, something Faye loves. They booked us for their day and also loved the idea of a spring engagement session. In April we headed to Westonbirt for a fun few hours photographing them together with Faye’s two family dogs – Molly & Watson, who came along as special guests.

Before we knew it, their October wedding day was upon us. The sun was shining and and after a lovely intimate church ceremony in Long Newnton, the guests all piled into their vintage bus to head back for the drinks party and the dinner at the barn. Whilst the guests were mingling we took a bit of time out do capture some of the newly weds alone together – and of course with Desmond the owl, a fun surprise arranged by Faye’s mum.

After dinner the guests hit the dance floor, big time – and finally everyone was invited out into the evening outside for some fun with sparklers, followed by an epic firework display. What a perfect finish!
