“You are the best Jo!!! I wanted photos of me and Gerald to treasure, I have loads of us competing but not any without. I could not have asked for anymore beautiful photos! A huge thank you !” (Annie).

Such a wonderful comment to receive after our first Equine Portrait day over in the Cotswolds in May!  We’d had a lot of requests for our Fine Art Equine portraits, which work well in an arena, so earlier in the year we looked around, selected a location we loved and booked a day. After a little spreading the word, the sessions booked up and we had a full Sunday of hour long sessions with gorgeous horses and their owners!

We had an amazing time – the weather was beautiful, so as well as using the indoor arena to our models, we were able to mix things up a bit, and ventured outside for portraits using both natural light, and our location lights.

We were thrilled that Annie, (who sent the thank you above) brought her gorgeous horse, ‘Gerald’, all the way from Hertfordshire to join us for a double session. Gerald is 24, he looks amazing, and we think they make a stunning picture together!

Here are a few of our favourite photos from the session; first Annie with Gerald, then young eventer Amelia James with her competition pony Steve, and a few of miniature horse ‘Rio’, owned by Jackie at the yard where the shoot took place.
