We were thrilled in early 2015 when our lovely clients Jules and Bas got in touch and asked us if we would travel to France to capture them with their two children, Boris and Marloes. We had photographed them all a few times before – first when Marloes was just a baby, then again when Boris was 7 and Marloes 5 years old. Now that they had settled in France, they wanted some fresh memories in different – and completely beautiful – surroundings.
So in October we flew over to Toulouse, and on arrival were blown away by the awesome choice of backgrounds – from their gorgeous farmhouse, to the undulating hills around it, to the nearby city of Toulouse, and the beautiful chateau up the road, which their friends had kindly said we could borrow for a few hours. We were awed and inspired by the choice and possibilities. After a little looking around and of planning, we kicked off with a first shoot, based around their farmhouse.. We loved the old wooden ‘lean-to’ doors at the side of their home, the unfinished rooms in their home, the beautiful old farm machinery which was to be found all around the farm, and the views of the countryside – so all of these became themes for our shots.
This blog shares some of the images from this shoot – a second blog to follow soon sharing the photographs from the other locations and shoots.
