Young Sponsored Riders Jo Hansford

The Jo Hansford Photography Young Rider Sponsorship Programme developed from our desire to offer a helping hand to aspiring young riders and give something back to the equestrian community. We are committed to supporting talented, passionate young riders and get so much pleasure watching each rider develop and progress throughout the year, and beyond.

Now in its eighth year, this fantastic sponsorship programme is available to promising young
riders nationally from all disciplines.

We partner with British Paralympic Dressage gold medallist, Natasha Baker OBE to provide specialist mentoring that will equip our young riders with the skills and resilience they need to help achieve their goals.

During each two year programme, we give three lucky winners two equine photoshoots, a branded rug and saddle pad plus four mentoring sessions with Natasha Baker with ongoing support and regular contact with Jo and Natasha throughout the year.

“I am so thrilled at the idea of passing on my knowledge to young riders. I can’t wait to help them reach their full potential. After the joy of winning three gold medals at Rio, it would be another dream come true if I could inspire these talented young people to fulfil their own dreams and aspirations.”

As well as an equine photoshoot with us and a branded horse rug and saddlepad, each of these riders receives ongoing mentoring and support throughout 2024 and 2025.

Tegan Vincent-Cooke is a 23 year old Para Dressage Rider based in Bristol, Somerset, with her horse Stolen Kiss (Coco) stabled in North Somerset.

Tegan has Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia, and comes from a non-horsey family. She started riding with the RDA at the age of four, recommended by her physiotherapist, and then astonishingly went on to become four time RDA champion. This year Tegan and Coco competed in the CPEDI3* international  at Addington, their first international. Tegan tells us her aim is to compete at more competitions at this level, and be part of a British team.’

“I’m so grateful to have received this sponsorship, it’s like two childhood dreams come true. I’ve always wanted to work with someone to capture amazing moments with Coco and I and have always loved Jo & Nic’s work, it’s just beautiful. And having Natasha as a mentor is invaluable, as a fellow para rider to gain knowledge and advice first hand from someone I admire and hope to follow in her footsteps… and hoof prints!”

Daisy Mansfield is a 17 year old dressage rider, based in Winchester,

Daisy competed in dressage at Pony FEI level in 2018, with an impressive win on a loan pony at her first regional competition in her first year out.

Since then, Daisy has been lucky enough to be loaned an advanced medium horse and has worked her way up the levels to PSG competing in three Premier Leagues aged 14-15 years, coming 3rd in her first competition, and gaining an international score.

Daisy now owns two chestnut mares – Vienna, a 6-year-old, whom she is bringing on slowly to compete in their first competition this year. Nora, her second horse, is a project horse, a 16 year old KWPN mare, whom she was bought as a birthday gift last year. Daisy’s dream is to one day wear the union flag competing for Team GB.

“I am excited for this opportunity to work with Jo & Nic! I have always admired the images that they capture and am looking forward to creating memories with my own special horses. Having Natasha as a mentor is something I have always dreamed of. I believe having someone as passionate as Natasha by my side will push me to be a better person and rider.”

Anya Strilkowski, 19, is a dedicated event rider based in Upton on Severn, Worcestershire.

Anya has worked up the levels with her main horse Kash, competing him at Intermediate and 3*, representing GB in the young rider team as an individual in 2023. Anya has owned Kash and brought him on since he was four.

Her goals for this year are to be selected for a team place in the European Young Rider squad for Strzegom, Poland,  and also compete in the 9-year-old championships at Blenheim.

“I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to work with Jo and Nic, and can’t wait to get started. I am also very grateful, and looking forward to the insight that can be provided by Natasha, to help me in the progression of my riding career.”

Our worthy runner-up is Tabby Taylor, 16, from Chard in Somerset who wins a two hour equine photoshoot with Jo and a mounted print.
