Call for Entries
We’re excited to announce our 2022 Young Sponsored Rider competition!
We’re proud to be collaborating with Natasha Baker, a globally-recognised Para Olympic Dressage champion, who holds an impressive collection of five Paralympic gold medals. We are looking for young riders from the UK, aged 14-26, who are committed and passionate about their sport – whether it’s eventing, dressage, showjumping, side saddle or carriage driving – and want to take their skills to a new level.

The closing date for entries is Friday 17th December 2021 – and the winners will be announced in the new year!
What’s included
Each of the three young riders will receive:
- two one-to-one mentoring sessions with Natasha Baker
- a Jo Hansford Photography photoshoot of the rider and their horse and a 16” framed print
- a Jo Hansford Photography-branded horse rug and saddle pad
- ongoing support and regular contact with Jo & Natasha throughout 2022
- joining our 2021 programme of fun get-togethers and yard visits
There are three runners-up prizes, too, and each rider will win a two-hour photoshoot with Jo Hansford and a mounted print.
Ellie Fredericks, a 2021 winner says, “Jo and Nic have been so incredibly supportive of me and I feel privileged to be sponsored by them. Their images are fantastic and have provided me with the most amazing memories of my horses. Having the opportunity to learn from Natasha has been invaluable and really helped me focus on my goals this year which I’m delighted to say, has ended by winning the 2* at Bicton!”
Natasha says: “It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to pass on my knowledge and inspire young riders to help fulfil their own dreams and aspirations. This is the sixth year that Jo, Nic and I have partnered and we’re delighted our programme of sponsorship has been such a success. I can’t wait to help this year’s winners reach their full potential.”
Jo says, “Our young rider sponsorship programme developed from a desire to give something back to the equestrian community. We are committed to supporting talented, passionate young riders and get so much pleasure watching each rider develop and progress throughout the year”.

Below are our key criteria for choosing Young Sponsored Riders, you need to be:
- Age 14-26 years
- Must live in the UK
- You must be passionate about your sport, committed, and out competing regularly – whether its eventing, showjumping, dressage, carriage driving or side saddle.
- Be active and posting on social media regularly – ideally Facebook and Instagram
- Be willing to actively promote our brand through your channels
