Young Sponsored Riders 2016 winners!
We’re so excited to tell you about our three new sponsored young riders. Each of the winners of our competition will receive sponsorship from us plus help and advice on taking their equestrian skills to the next level from the lovely Natasha Baker, MBE, Rio Paralympics triple-gold medallist.
The three winners are Jemima Stratton, 14, from Warminster, Wiltshire, Jess Parsons, 21, from Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire and Lucy Mae Bush, 13, from Peasedown St John, Somerset.
Jemima Stratton is an Eventer who has been selected to train with the South West England U18 eventing team. Jemima aims to move up to novice/pony trials by the end of 2017 and, longer term, is aiming for her and her ride Rambo to compete at the Pony Europeans.
Jess Parsons is a keen Dressage rider who is ranked second in the South West BYRDS novice section. This year she hopes to obtain qualification for the Winter Regional Championships and her ultimate goal is to compete at the National Championships.
Lucy Mae Bush is a para Dressage rider who also hacks, shows and jumps with her horse Rainbow. Lucy has competed and been placed at numerous competitions, the most recent of which was the Inter County Dressage Extravaganza. She was also selected for the Para Home International and won a class.
Each of these girls get sponsorship and support from us during 2017, receiving a JHP branded horse rug and gilet and an equine photoshoot by us. This is the second year that we have partnered with Natasha to offer what we hope you agree is a great package.
Three runners up will also receive a photoshoot and they are:
Isabella Channing, 15, from Bisley, Gloucestershire who is an eventer and rides Bruno. Isabella is aiming to step up to BE Novice in the 2017 eventing season and to make the Junior European eventing team.
Chiara Conze, 15, from West Littleton, Wiltshire is a junior event rider looking to step up to FEI1* level this year and be in the selection for next year’s Junior European Eventing championships with her horse Concerto.
Isobel Wesbroom-Warr, 14, is a carriage driver from Nailsea, North Somerset who, with her sister, gained qualification for the Indoor Championships four years in a row. She has been young junior champion twice and represented Team GB and brought home gold in 2012.
Natasha, the globally recognised Dressage champion, says:
“I am so thrilled at the idea of passing on my knowledge to young riders. This is the second year that Jo and I have partnered for this initiative and we’re delighted our 2015 programme of sponsorship was such a success. I can’t wait to help this year’s winners reach their full potential. After the joy of winning three gold medals at Rio it would be another dream come true if I could inspire the three talented young winners to fulfil their own dreams and aspirations.”
