It was December when we headed to Easton Grey in the Cotswolds to photograph the Whatley Manor Wedding of Noreen & Simon. I started the day with the buzz of the girls preparations upstairs in the hotel, Nic stayed in Tetbury with Simon and the boys to capture their pub meet with a few family and friends. We ‘d met Simon and Noreen a few times before, to plan their wedding day and to do their engagement shoot, and, having got to know them a little, we knew this was going to be an intimate and fun day with beautiful styling and amazing food!
Its always hard to summarise a wedding – but if I had to nail this day in a few words , it would be “laid-back luxury”.
We’ve shot weddings at Whatley many times, its a location we love and it boasts stunning yet warm, homely interiors as well as the most beautiful grounds and gardens – a perfect backdrop for a wedding in any season!
After a wonderful and emotional civil ceremony in the Reception Hall, the drinks party kicked off followed by dinner, and while we took photos, everyone celebrated in style.
With all the guests enjoying the party inside, we used a few of the beautiful hotel interiors and then headed outside into the brusque winter night to create a few images of the ‘newly weds’ together.
As we came back, the reception room was completely ready with stunning flower displays, favours, table plan and a 3 tier cake ready to be cut! The room looked incredible! Speeches were followed by dinner – and we can vouch for their Asian-English fusion menu being delicious!
A big thank you to Noreen & Simon for having us, we loved being a part of your day and capturing some wonderful memories for you!
