It was great catching up with 14 year old dressage rider Lydia May and her parents, Amanda and Pete, a few weeks ago when they came for the viewing of the photographs from Lydia’s photoshoot! Lydia and mum came to see us last summer at Gatcombe Horse Trials and booked an Equine session as a birthday gift for Lydia, who had recently acquired her new pony, a lovely Appaloosa called ‘Spot’.

In September we headed to Wiltshire on a Saturday afternoon for Lydia’s shoot. The weather was typically “British” – glorious sunshine, followed by heavy rain, then light rain with more sunshine, and finally overcast with big grey clouds! This didn’t stop us from having a fabulous afternoon taking the photographs, at the yard where the ponies are kept near Chippenham, and in the fields surrounding the stables. After a few stable portraits with the family’s two ponies, Spot and their adorable Shetland ‘Bella’, Lydia got changed and we headed into one of the fields for some natural, long grass shots. We loved the amazing collection of clothes Lydia brought along for the shoot – her fabulous hat,  an amazing selection of jeans, shirts and tops and finally a gorgeous bold cerise dress, which looked amazing with her long riding boots!

We finished the shoot with some dramatic lit shots in one of the fields to capture the dramatic clouds,  with Lydia on the ground holding Spot and then bareback on board! Thanks Lydia, we loved having you and your gorgeous four leggeds as models for the day!
