Back in 2015 I headed over to Cardiff on a wet and windy night to meet Helen and Greg for the first time to chat about wedding photography. At that point they hadn’t booked a date or found the perfect venue, so we talked through their ideas and I mentioned Peterstone Court, a beautiful Georgian house where we have captured weddings since 2005.
Roll on a few months and they had visited the hotel and fallen in love with it! They decided to book it for their wedding reception in August 2016 – we were thrilled as we knew Peterstone Court would deliver the wonderful fun atmosphere they wanted, in the stunning backdrop of the Brecon Beacons.
When the day dawned and we headed over to Cardiff, we could see the weather wasn’t everything a couple would hope for from a summer wedding – think buckets of rain and gale force winds!! We quickly saw nothing would stop these two from having the most amazing time – they literally smiled and laughed all day! After a lovely midday ceremony in Roath, everyone headed to Peterstone for the reception. It was a 40 minute drive to Peterstone Court, so we made use of the time and stopped en route to capture the newly weds in the Welsh landscape. Helen and Greg had chosen a lovely spot at Llwyn-On Reservoir with its iconic tower for a few photos, which was perfect, as Helen said: “Stopping en route to Brecon by the reservoir in the pouring rain was a lovely memory for us!”
These two totally rocked the evening party – after the dinner and speeches, they treated everyone to the surprise of the “Singing Waiters” who had the crowds singing and dancing along with them in a few minutes. The dancefloor filled and in Helen’s words, “We danced from the minute we stopped eating until the DJ stopped and the dance floor was never once empty!!”
