Its a week since we captured Nic and Matt’s awesome wedding day, first in Bristol and then over in Shepton Mallet at the Old Priory. The couple are just back from their “minimoon” in beautiful Portugal so we thought it would be lovely to share a first few memories!
We first met Nic and Matt, along with their gorgeous baby Jenny, back in March, we had been recommended to them by a friend, whose wedding we captured a few years ago. From the first coffee we know this wedding would be relaxed all the way – Nic and Matt’s priority was a fun, informal day with close family and their gorgeous little Jenny, with some of their own twists thrown in. Nic is a big fan of everything vintage so opted for a stunning Hermione Harbutt headpiece paired with a beautiful lacy Stephanie Allin dress, with embellished sleeves and detail on the back, complimented by bold red lipstick typical of the 20s and 30s. Her hair and makeup were beautifully styled by one of our favourite artists, Julie Johnson. You looked incredible Nic!
The wedding day was one of those ‘very British’ weather days where it rained one moment and shined the next, but this didn’t stop them from having the most amazing time! After a wonderful ceremony in St Christophers church, Brislington, up the road from their home, we captured a few moments outside and then the skies opened and the rain came down. They braved the showers to stop with us in beautiful Pensford, en route to the venue, with a few umbrellas, to capture some “just married” moments together.
The styling of the venue – the Old Priory in Midsomer Norton, was autumnal with gorgeous oranges and golds, painted gourds, big flowers, lots of candles – beautifully arranged by a florist whose work we love – Tilly Tomlinson. We captured a few photos in the grounds and then everyone settled into the wedding meal and evening.
We can’t wait to share the whole set of photos when they are ready!
