Happy Anniversary to our wonderful couple Kat and Gavin, who tied the knot a year ago!
We loved photographing Kat & Gavin’s stunning Great Tythe Barn wedding last May. The Great Tythe Barn is such a gorgeous location for photography, and last spring it was bursting with vibrant green and spring flowers!
Early in 2019, I went to meet Kat and Gavin at home to do some planning for their big day. They have two beautiful cats at home, Mia and Cleo, and being a cat person, I could instantly relate to Kat. I also met their gorgeous little baby Louis, who was then just a few months old, and was just adorably cute. I could see he was going to steal the show on the wedding day.
I knew from that first meeting that Kat and Gavin’s Great Tythe Barn wedding would be super relaxed and a lot of fun! Kat is a big fan of climbing and on the day, we even caught her, along with her climbing mates, clambering one of the Cotswold walls at the barn in her gown – naughty bride!! Of course there had to be a shot…..scroll down to see!
She opted for a vibrant colour scheme – stunning peacock feathers against white with purple and blue – a refreshing change from the soft pastels and vintage tones we so often see. In Kat’s words: “I saw a stunning bouquet on Pinterest and fell in love with it! Peacock feathers with whites against bright purple and blue – it was just magnificent.” The bouquets and centrepieces by Floral Touch were definitely magnificent!
The day itself was sunny and beautiful, with a moving, fun and emotional ceremony downstairs in the barn, followed by confetti, drinks and photographs outside.
Speeches and dinner followed and as a spectacular finale, the couple had arranged for Fire Entertainer Kat Collett to perform in front of the barn – a first for us and so different!
