We met Sonia and Mike back in 2013 when we captured their beautiful wedding day at Whatley Manor in Easton Grey. The following year their beautiful twins arrived, Sophia & Alexander, in Madrid where the couple live. We were thrilled when they asked us to spend a morning with them over in Corsham when they were back in UK visiting family, to capture some memories of their two little cuties with everyone.

So one sunny Saturday we headed to Wilts, and started the session with Sophia & Alex with Mum and Dad in their cottage, to get everyone warmed up and the twins used to us being around. Tomas, the twins older brother, was also staying, so stepped in for a few shots with his younger siblings.

There are so many things I love about photoshoots with babies and children – the spontaneity and unpredictability of youngsters, who can be full of tears one moment and rolling around with laughter the next; the bond and the relationship between siblings, especially twins who so often have that unique connection having grown together in the womb. This shoot was no different. Mike and Sonia had told us that Sophia was the more lively, dominant of the twins and for the first part of the shoot, Alex was a little shy with us – understandably, he had never met us before, whereas Sophia was more bold and fearless.

We then hopped up the road to the local village green for a few outside shots and Mike’s parents Gwen and Roy came along too, clearly smitten with the new arrivals in the family, to feature in a few photographs. Alex found it quite entertaining when we sat them both in an old suitcase that we brought along. This provided some magical moments. It was so lovely capturing the interaction between them!
