Alongside our wedding and horse photography, we photograph 20 or so families every year, many of whom are couples whose weddings we photographed, some of whom are new clients. We love these shoots – the chance to get to know each family, the personalities of the children, different ages from toddler to teen – ‘bottling’ a moment in time for a family.
Kerri and Dan got in touch after they had seen some of our photographs earlier in the year, and we had been planning a shoot with them, their 4 year old little boy Elias, and 4 month black labrador puppy ‘Maple’ since February. One Saturday morning in March we headed to Bradford-on-Avon for their shoot. It was a very ‘English’ day – overcast and cloudy, the sun didn’t seem to want to make an appearance! As soon as we arrived, we realised just how much this really didn’t matter. Elias was THE star of the shoot – easy going, cheeky, funny and fun – he took everything in his stride, going along with our requests, whilst at the same time being his lively, easygoing self. Maple, who was just 4 months old when we did the shoot, was just great!
“Words cannot describe how happy we are with our family portrait photos. Jo & Nic are kind, friendly, adaptable, professional and fun! Efficient service and amazing results. Thank you so much! Xxx Kerri & Dan
This shoot reminded me how important it is to collect the memories as we go through life, rather than waiting for some ‘perfect moment’ or event to need an excuse. Isn’t it sometimes more about the simple things we enjoy doing together – walking the country lanes together or with the family dog, playing tag, just enjoying being together? Maybe thats what we all want to look back on in later years – just the lovely, every day moments which make a family life special.
