A few weeks ago we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph two beautiful rescue greyhounds, Eddie & Leah. This was a first for us and we were quickly smitten by their huge appealing eyes, sensitivity, character and agility. These two were lucky enough to find a wonderful home with owner Deb, who adopted them from the Bristol charity DAWG. This is a charity which works to re-home greyhounds and lurchers. If you’re interested to find out more, DAWG is always on the look out for new homes for dogs, details can be found on their website: http://bristoldawg.webs.com/home.htm
Thank you very much for the link, I have reciprocated on DAWG’s website. The photos are beautiful.
Lovely pics – especially the ones of them running – they are such beautiful dogs!
I didn’t know what to expect from the shoot with Jo and Nic. I’d seen other static studio portraits of dogs and hadn’t been that sold on them. What a revelation! The shoot started off at our house, where our very lazy but quite suspicious greyhounds got used to the cameras. The first shots were taken with the dogs on their favourite sofa – as they were so relaxed, the pictures are stunning and really show their true characters. After a few more in the house, we went to the park (not forgetting the important collar changes for variety!) and Jo and Nic brilliantly managed to capture the beauty of a very fast-moving greyhound. Jo tells me they approached the shoot as they would a toddler portrait; keeping it low-key, fast-paced and interesting for the subject. I know we wouldn’t have got anything like these results had I taken the dogs to a studio. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
