We love the way our couples’ personalities and styles shine through on their wedding day – its what makes each wedding we photograph unique and personal. We’ve photographed many Bath Priory weddings over the years, its a venue we love – and this was the perfect backdrop for Lucy & Marek’s day. Here was a fun couple, who love cats and books, have artistic flair and a penchant for beautiful details and fine dining!
Thank you Jo and Nic! You are both brill – I honestly don’t think I could have chosen better photographers! Not only fab photos but all our wedding guests said how attentive and pleasant you both were on the day. And you put up with our silliness, incorporated it into the photographs and really captured the mood . We will treasure our photographs!
Lucy & Marek’s style shouted unique and personal in every way – from their choice of clothing, to the styling of the rooms, the invitations and stationery (designed and printed by Meticulous Ink), and the wedding cake (by Didi cakes) – which it has to be said was just incredible! Marek sported tartan trousers and a smart navy jacket along with a boater hat and bowtie; Lucy chose a midi length ivory wedding dress made by Jessica Charleston Couture, with blue buttons on the back, combined with a pillbox hat from Fruit Bat Textiles. Having spent some time with them both before the wedding, we knew we were in for a really fun day, and they didn’t disappoint!
Our shoot started late morning with the groom and family at the hotel, just before Lucy arrived with her dad. The ceremony itself was in the Drawing Room – a beautiful space adorned with paintings, perfect for the intimate ceremony Lucy & Marek shared with close family and friends. It was an emotional ceremony, we could feel everyone in the room welling up as they said their vows, us included!
The forecast had been for a bright, hot and sunny day – and boy did it get hot – temperatures soared in the afternoon to the high twenties! After the ceremony everyone headed outside to the terrace for the drinks reception and a few photos. Dinner and speeches followed inside in the Pavillion, beautifully styled with books and flowers on the tables.
As the dinner came to a close late that afternoon, the couple wound down their day in their own way – having said farewells, they hopped into their car and headed off together for an evening to be spent with their families in their Bath home.
