When we sent out our Xmas card last December lots of you asked if the gorgeous white Spanish stallion featured on our card, ‘Vejador’ was actually inside the room with the chandelier, or if we had just hung a chandelier in a very posh stable.

So we thought we should share a visual story behind the card and the horse with the chandelier. Yes, he really was inside the room, in fact he was inside a room in the beautiful Palacio Recreo de las Cadenas, at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain; where this photoshoot took place.
Before he went into the palace, Vejador had a full makeover, and also had to wear white slippers to protect the flooring in the palace from his hooves – which were then painted back to black to look realisitic.
Amazingly, he really didn’t seem to mind going up the steps and into the room, and once in there, having looked around a little, he really seemed to relax into his photoshoot. A few nibbles placed on the window sill managed to persuade him to look out of the window, where the final shot was taken.

With thanks to the team at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and to Sussex Lusitanos.
