Child Hospice UK Charity Adopted!
Jo Hansford Photography supports Bristol based national charity Children's Hospice UK as our chosen charity.

"We are thrilled to support this wonderful cause" says Jo. "Having worked in recent times with several clients who have benefited in so many ways from the wonderful work of this charity, we felt we wanted to offer our support. We aim to both fund-raise in various creative ways, as well as donating some photographic shoots, to help this cause".

Children's Hospices UK gives voice and support to over 40 children's hospice services throughout the country. Established over 10 years ago, the charity's vision remains the same: for every child and young person who is not expected to reach adulthood and their family to have access to the highest standards of children's hospice care and support close to home.

Sharing the caring
It's every parent's worst nightmare to be told their child will die before them. But for an estimated 25,000 families across the UK, this is a reality. Some of these children will die when they're very young; others will deteriorate slowly over a number of years. In most cases, full-time care falls to the parents - 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The families affected are under huge emotional, physical and financial strain.

Children's hospice services help children and families in this situation deal with the emotional and physical challenges they face and to make the most of life. They welcome the whole family for a break in friendly, homely surroundings and provide practical help in people's own homes. They offer a wide range of services including specialist care, short breaks, telephone support, advice and information, and bereavement support for all family members. They also offer a range of therapies for families including play, art or music therapy.
